My brother-in-law and his lovely wife have found themselves a little piece of heaven on earth. They have rented a nicely situated and beautifully designed house at the top of a hill amidst wonderful neighbors and incredible views. The owners terraced and landscaped a huge expanse of land that offers a personal park setting to the occupants of the house. The pictures just don't do it justice, because the hydrangeas are lush and blue and prolific. It is from this lovely setting that Delbert and I watched the fireworks throughout Massachusets.The following day, we participated in a block party. This was the first such event Delbert had ever attended and he is a social butterfly. He loves to hear people's stories and he has plenty of his own entertaining tales to share. We prepared a broccoli salad, some good old Texas guacamole and shrimp kabobs for the event. Then we spent most of the day watching, talking, eating and laughing. It was a great time. I had to bail before Delbert because the sun of the day and the tour of the previous day had zapped me. Below are pictures of the block party. Delbert is in the Boston Red Socks jersey. He has learned that wearing such attire opens many doors for him. =)
